Windy Ridge Clubs and Activities 

Battle of the Books 3-5
This is a club that meets to read, discuss, and practice questions based on the 15 SSYRA books for the year.
Requirements: Students must be in third, fourth or fifth grade
Dues: None
Meetings: Wednesdays before school 8:15am in the Media Center

Crochet Club
Have you ever wanted to create accessories, clothing or even stuffed animals starting with nothing but yarn and a hook? Perhaps you saw Olympian Tom Daley who has been knitting and crocheting in between dives and wondered what that was about. Come join the club! Whether you are a pro or have never hear the word "crochet" before, if you'd like to get creative, learn a new skill, and start your mornings with some fun, we would love to have you.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
Windy Ridge's FCA Chapter is part of an international organization which challenges athletes and non-athletes to impact the world for Jesus Christ. Meetings are a time of "inspiration and perspiration" for students of all religious or denominational (or none) who want to reach their potential through athletic, spiritual, leadership, and service experiences.

Future Problem Solvers(FPS)
FPS is an educational program that organizes academic competitions in which students apply critical thinking and problem solving skills to hypothetical future situations.

Girls Who Code (GWC)
CODING, SISTERHOOD, AND BRAVERY
Students in upper elementary and middle school learn computer skills they need to make an impact and prepare for tech careers through weekly programs in coding and sisterhood. Students invest in their future by learning about computer science and tech jobs and by meeting local industry leaders, all while building a supportive community of sisterhood. GWC offers incredible benefits to young ladies and so much more - no previous coding experience necessary!

Let's throw kindness around like confetti! In kindness Club we are all about making our school an even kinder place to be. If you want to make students, staff, and members of our community smile through activities like making cards, bookmarks or posters, organizing food drives and reading to Kindergartners, come apply to join Kindness Club!

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)
Membership in NJHS is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a student. Our chapter strives to uphold the Society's standards of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character. These five values will be considered as the basis for your selection, asd well as a fundamental part of our chapter activities. Students are not inducted simply because of a high academic average. NJHS strives to recognize the total student-one who excels in all areas of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character. We will use our meeting time to work on community service projects and work together to ensure the five pillars of NJHS are demonstrated throughout the year.

Science Olympiad
Science Olympiad is a national competition for middle school science students. It is organized into regional, state, and national competitions. teams are comprised of 15 students who compete in 23 different events. The events include math, physics, chemistry, earth and space science, biology and engineering. Students engage in hands-on, interactive, and inquiry-based activities that are lab-based, research-based, or prebuilt.
