Reminder Resiliency Day : Catching the Wave with Every Emotion!

Posted Date: 02/18/26 (03:10 PM)

🌊 Resiliency Day Experience 🌊

Thursday, February 19th, is our second Resiliency Day, a special day dedicated to celebrating our students’ ability to overcome challenges and "catch the wave" of resilience!  Each grade has been assigned a specific character, color, and Resiliency Characteristic to help them navigate their resiliency skills.

Wear Your Resiliency Colors!

We invite all students to dress in their grade-level color to show our school-wide commitment to staying Resilient!

What to Expect on Resiliency Day

  • Grades K-5: Students will be encouraged to discuss how they can use their resiliency characteristic to help them with their emotion character that has been assigned to their grade.
  • Grades 6-8: Students will follow an adjusted bell schedule. They will complete a 30-minute self-paced Canvas lesson and a 30-minute college and career planning activity in Xello. Topics include overcoming challenges, mental wellness, and campus support systems.

These activities satisfy the Florida Department of Education’s mandatory resiliency instruction, helping our students build the tools they need for lifelong success.

Accessing Resources

You can access all student materials through the Canvas app in the OCPS Parent Portal. For more information on our mental health and resiliency initiatives, please visit the Mental Health Services Parent Resources website.

If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Qazi (SAFE Coordinator) and Ms. Ryan (School-Based Social Worker).

We can’t wait to see our students show their colors and "Catch the Wave" of resilience together!
